April 1st is the one year birthday of International Trade Center at GSU. We would like to thank for everyone ‘s great support during the past and upcoming year. Below is the Top 10 things we did to accomplish the International Trade Center goals.
The Goal Accomplished: (April 1,2011-March 31,2012)
- New Clients: 64 new exporting and existing exporting clients.
- The total consulting hours: 712 hours
- Export Value: $774 million, 45.5 times of the annual goal ($17m).
- Training Event hosted : 10 workshops and seminars, 227 attendees.
- Success Story: 8 success stories published on the DCEO Weekly Connections and GSU views
Top 10 achievements and events during the first year ITC at GSU (April 1,2011 -March 31,2012) :
- On April 1, 2011, IL International Trade Center at GSU started and made the press release to announce the establishment.
- On April 12, 2011, ITC orientation arranged by SBDC Springfield Headquarters.
- On May 18, 2011, the first International Trade workshop at CenterPoint Veteran’s Boot Camp.
- On June 20, 2011, attended the Governor’s Export Week Conference. The ITC client C&D USA acquired the Excellent Exporter Awards honored by Governor Quinn.
- On June 23, 2011, the first Export Seminar hosted by ITC, on the topic of the Agriculture Export and Export to Africa.
- On August 23-24, 2011, the ITC-OTI Joint meeting held and announced the STEP program.
- On Sep 20, 2011, the ITC client CJS trading had signed the $100million Soybean export contract with ADM, Governor Quinn attending the contact signing ceremony in China.
- On Nov 14-15, US-China International Trade Forum hosted by ITC at GSU as the series events during the Global Entrepreneurships’ Week. And arranged the field trip to Logistics Park at Joliet.
- On Feb 16, 2012, ITC/GSU and IL Soybean Association co-hosted the Agriculture Export and Transportation Summit at GSU, with more than 100 participants.
- One March 8, 2012, with ITC support and nomination, PARC Corp acquired the 2012 SBA Small Business Export of the Year. The director ITC received the Certified of Global Business Professional certification designated by NASBITE.
